CBR Building - Brussels, Belgium

The CBR Building in Brussels is a reminder of why I’m drawn to Brutalism.

There’s something magnetic about its presence… solid, unapologetic, and quietly poetic.

Designed by Constantin Brodzki and Marcel Lambrichs in the late 1960s, its façade is a study in contrasts: sculpted concrete modules give it rhythm and repetition, while the warm orange glazing offers an unexpected softness, almost like the building is glowing from within. It felt human.

It's buildings like this that remind me why I continue to seek out Brutalism, not for its weight, but for its presence.
